Daisy: ‘At Meeus, I see every day as a new adventure’
Even though after a while you develop a daily routine at work, and everybody has their own
set tasks, Daisy Elst still experiences every day at work as a new adventure. Every shipment
is different. Every customer request is different. The world of transport is a dynamic one.
That means that Daisy doesn’t regret for an instant the choice she made more than ten
years ago, to join Meeus Transport.
What Daisy (32) finds adventurous in her role as Customer Service Assistant at Meeus:
each new morning, she never knows what the day will bring. Except, of course, the question
which is invariably asked on the job, ‘How can we help our customers on their way, in the
best possible manner?’ It is up to her and her colleagues to come up with a suitable solution.
Daisy: ‘It’s worth it, if in return you have a happy customer!’. Quote: ‘Meeus gave me room to
grow, and that has made me who I am today’.
That Daisy has an adventurous approach to life is obvious. So when her contract with a
previous employer came to an end, a new challenge was more than welcome. Meeus
Transport crossed her path, and it was soon clear it was a good match. Daisy: ‘I started out
pretty young and clueless. To be honest: I knew nothing about the transport world. Over the
years I have learned a lot from colleagues who have been on the job for years. I am
enormously grateful that they were prepared to share their time and knowledge with me, so I
could develop further. Meeus gave me room to grow, and that has made me who I am
The family nature of Meeus is something that really appeals to Daisy. ‘You feel at home here.
It’s here that I have grown up, matured and developed. That’s partly because they genuinely
care about you as a person’. If we ask Daisy to name a highlight of her career at Meeus, she
can’t single out one particular moment. Working together with the team every day is a
highlight in its own right. ‘We really do work together. And when we undertake a challenging
job, manage to pull it off and are given a great compliment by the customer, then we are
